Why I started The Finishing Touch

The Finishing Touch was born from a simple but important belief: your home should feel like an exhale, not another item on your to-do list. I started this business after seeing how often busy families, professionals, and caregivers were trying to carry it all — careers, kids, pets, life — and still somehow keep their home feeling peaceful, presentable, and pulled together.

I’ve always been drawn to the quiet details: the way a freshly made bed changes a room, how styled surfaces make a space feel intentional, how a truly clean home lets you breathe a little deeper. What began as helping friends and family quickly grew into a trusted local service, and over time The Finishing Touch expanded into full home care: luxury cleaning, organizing, staging, interior decorating, and seasonal styling.

What’s included in an initial clean? +
An initial clean is a deeper, more detailed visit designed to reset your home. We focus on high-touch areas, bathrooms, kitchen surfaces, floors, and dusting throughout, along with extra attention in spaces that have more buildup. Once we’ve completed the initial clean, we can move you into a standard recurring maintenance schedule.
Do you offer organizing, staging, or decorating as stand-alone services? +
Yes. In addition to cleaning, we offer organizing, staging & styling, and seasonal or holiday decorating. These can be booked as stand-alone services or layered on top of a cleaning visit depending on your goals.
Pricing & Booking
How do you price your services? +
Pricing is based on a combination of home size, condition, number of baths, lifestyle factors (like pets), and the type of clean you’re requesting. We start with a ballpark range from your intake form, then confirm your final quote after reviewing details, photos, or a walkthrough if needed.
Why is the initial clean more than a standard maintenance clean? +
The initial visit allows us to catch up on buildup, detail areas that may have been overlooked, and set your home up for easier upkeep moving forward. Once that baseline is established, recurring visits are typically less time-intensive and priced accordingly.
How do I request a quote or get on your schedule? +
The best first step is to complete our quick intake form so we can learn more about your home and goals. From there, we’ll follow up with a tailored estimate and next steps to either schedule your initial clean or set up a walkthrough.
Policies & Home Care
Do I need to be home during the clean? +
You’re welcome to be home, but it’s not required. Many clients provide access via lockbox, code, or key. We’ll review access instructions, pets, and any special requests before your visit so everything feels seamless and secure.
What is your cancellation policy? +
Because we reserve a dedicated block of time for your home, we do require advance notice for cancellations or reschedules. Details of our current cancellation policy are shared during booking, and we’re happy to clarify anything before your first visit.
Are your cleaners insured or background checked? +
Yes. We take safety seriously. Our independent contractors are carefully vetted, required to carry appropriate insurance, and held to The Finishing Touch standards for professionalism, confidentiality, and respect in client homes.
